Judge Nixes $3B Lawsuit Against GM Over Saab Bankruptcy

Law360, Chicago (June 10, 2013, 8:12 PM EDT) -- A Michigan federal judge on Monday tossed Dutch carmaker Spyker NV’s $3 billion lawsuit alleging General Motors Co. pushed Saab Automobile AB into bankruptcy by interfering with Spyker’s bid to sell the Swedish automaker to Chinese investors.

U.S. District Judge Gershwin A. Drain granted GM’s motion to dismiss the suit during a court hearing, according to court records. Spyker, which purchased Saab from GM in 2010, accused the U.S. auto giant of thwarting the Saab sale to protect its position in the lucrative Chinese market....
