Trustee Protests Dura's Sealed Motion In GM Deals

Law360, New York (January 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. trustee overseeing automaker Dura Inc.'s bankruptcy cried foul on Tuesday at the company's request to seal a motion to approve new deals with General Motors Corp., saying that the seal would hide information that Dura's creditors are entitled to see.

“Neither convenience nor the debtors’(or General Motors’) desire to control the dissemination of information or an agreement to maintain information as confidential justifies the relief requested in the Seal Motion,” said Kelly Stapleton, the trustee, in a response brief filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy...
