5th Circ. Judge's Misconduct Complaint Sent To DC Circ.

Law360, Chicago (June 13, 2013, 6:13 PM EDT) -- U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts on Wednesday transferred to the D.C. Circuit's judicial council a judicial misconduct complaint accusing Fifth Circuit Judge Edith Jones of making disparaging comments about minorities and the mentally disabled in a talk on the death penalty.

Chief Justice Roberts selected the location and issued the transfer in response to a request by Fifth Circuit Chief Judge Carl E. Stewart, who had asked that the June 4 complaint over remarks Judge Jones allegedly made during a Feb. 20 lecture to...
