Atty's Dual Role Doesn't Let Insurers Into $5M Suit: Pa. Court

Law360, New York (June 20, 2013, 5:19 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania appeals court on Tuesday reversed rulings that let OneBeacon Insurance Co. and other insurers challenge and overturn a $5.1 million judgment in an injury suit where the same attorney allegedly represented the plaintiffs and defendants in a jury trial.

The Pennsylvania Superior Court, one of two intermediate appeals court in the state, held that the carriers should not have been allowed to intervene in a suit brought over injuries from a mold infestation because they waited two years to do so.
