Stem Cell Co. Hits Ex-CEO With Trade Secrets Suit

Law360, New York (June 20, 2013, 5:34 PM EDT) -- Cognate Bioservices Inc. said its former president and CEO stole its trade secrets after he resigned, handing the information over to his new employer and helping him start a consulting firm rivaling Cognate, according to a suit filed Wednesday in Maryland federal court.

It took Alan K. Smith more than two years after he left Cognate to return a company-issued laptop that he was supposed to turn in immediately and in the interim he pillaged the computer for information about human and veterinary cell therapy products...
