Intrepid Mines Survives Quantum Vote To Oust Board

Law360, New York (June 20, 2013, 5:59 PM EDT) -- Australian natural resources company Intrepid Mines Ltd. has survived a bid by Hong Kong hedge fund Quantum Pacific Capital to oust its board after shareholders voted down Quantum's motion to remove the directors, Intrepid said Thursday.

Quantum had attempted to vote out the board in the wake of its failure to prevent Intrepid from being kicked out of its own $5 billion copper-gold venture in Indonesia last year. But shareholders rejected the measure at an extraordinarily general meeting Thursday, keeping Quantum's slate of directors in place....
