Jury Sinks Veteran's Kawasaki Jet Ski Defect Suit

Law360, New York (June 20, 2013, 6:56 PM EDT) -- A Washington state jury on Tuesday found there was no defect in a Kawasaki Motors Corp. Jet Ski that allegedly exploded after a 45-minute ride, triggering the post-traumatic stress disorder of the rider, an Iraq war veteran.

The jury had to decide between two different stories about what happened in July 2008, when the explosion occurred, and also whether a fuel line problem that was the subject of a recall was to blame, Kawasaki's attorney Richard A. Mueller of Thompson Coburn LLC told Law360 on Thursday....
