ITC Starts Probe In Nokia's Patent Case Against HTC

Law360, New York (June 21, 2013, 2:57 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission voted Thursday to launch an investigation into Nokia Corp.'s allegations that HTC Corp. imported smartphones that infringed six of Nokia's patents.

The trade body will probe Nokia's claims that the Taiwanese smartphone maker violated Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 by importing smartphones that infringed the patents. If successful, Nokia could win an import ban on HTC's flagship products, like the HTC One and HTC 4G Evo LTE.
