EU Greenlights Deal For Faster US Drug Imports

Law360, New York (June 21, 2013, 1:10 PM EDT) -- The European Commission on Friday cleared the U.S. as a “listed third country” that can export drugs and other pharmaceutical products to the European Union without obtaining export certificates from U.S. drug regulators.

If the commission hadn't done so, starting next month U.S. drug manufacturers would have had to prove to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that each drug was manufactured in accordance with Europe’s good manufacturing practices, according to the FDA.
