Pa. Regulatory Board OKs New Water Standards

Law360, Philadelphia (June 21, 2013, 2:53 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania regulatory board approved new water quality standards on Thursday over the objections of environmental groups and Democratic legislators who argued that the updates don't adequately address the discharge of oil and gas drilling wastewater into the state's waterways.

In a 3-2 decision, the state's Independent Regulatory Review Commission signed off on the revisions proposed by the Environmental Quality Board of the state's Department of Environmental Protection.
