Judge Crushes Medtronic Bone Mill Antitrust Case

Law360, New York (June 24, 2013, 2:13 PM EDT) -- Medtronic Inc. on Friday escaped a suit accusing it of abusing a surgical bone mill supply contract to monopolize the market for the devices, after a Colorado federal judge ruled Lenox MacLaren Surgical Corp. had failed to prove any monopoly claims.

U.S. District Judge Richard P. Matsch dismissed the suit, ruling Lenox — a Louisville, Colo.-based surgical instrument maker — had ignored evidence that there were several rival bone mill devices available during Medtronic's alleged monopoly period and had failed to show that Medtronic's actions had otherwise...
