High Court Takes Case That Will Decide CFPB Director’s Fate

Law360, New York (June 24, 2013, 1:48 PM EDT) -- The battle over Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Richard Cordray's recess appointment may soon be resolved after the U.S. Supreme Court agreed Monday to review a decision rejecting President Barack Obama's recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board made the same day.

In an expected move, the high court agreed to hear the Obama administration's appeal of the D.C. Circuit's January decision in Noel Canning v. National Labor Relations Board, which found Obama's recess appointments to the labor board were unconstitutional.
