Hasbro Attacks Facebook 'Bogglific' Game

Law360 (January 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- In another on-line word-game shakeup, the creator of Bogglific, the Facebook version of the popular word game Boggle, reportedly removed the application after receiving a cease-and-desist letter from the world's second-largest toy company.

Hasbro Inc. told Bogglific developer Roger Nesbitt that the game infringed the manufacturer's copyright, Australian Associated Press reported Thursday. But Nesbitt, who is from New Zealand, said he doesn't believe these claims were justified.

"U.S. copyright quite clearly claims that you cannot copyright the logistics of the game," he told the AAP....
