MF Global's Corzine May Face CFTC Enforcement Action

Law360, New York (June 25, 2013, 1:05 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission is planning to file a civil enforcement action against former MF Global Holdings Ltd. CEO Jon Corzine, likely alleging he failed to prevent a $1.6 billion customer fund shortfall in the firm’s chaotic final days, according to a Monday report.

The CFTC plans to file the suit “as soon as this week,” and has told Corzine’s lawyers it may launch the case without offering him a chance to settle, The New York Times reported late Monday, citing unnamed law enforcement...
