EEOC Pay Bias Suit Says Royal Tire Underpaid HR Director

Law360, New York (June 25, 2013, 5:04 PM EDT) -- Royal Tire Inc. was hit with a pay bias suit from the U.S. Equal Opportunity Employment Commission on Thursday in Minnesota federal court alleging the tire retailer and wholesaler paid a female supervisor well below what her male predecessor earned.

The company allegedly paid Christine Fellman-Wolf, the St. Cloud, Minn.-based company’s former human resources director, $35,000 less than the man she replaced — initially giving her an annual salary that fell below the company's minimum salary guidelines for the position, the commission said.
