Allergan Punches Back At Botox Death Claims

Law360, New York (January 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Allergan Inc., the maker of Botox, is fighting allegations by a consumer advocacy group that the popular cosmetic treatment has caused serious adverse reactions and even deaths.

Public Citizen, an advocacy group founded by Ralph Nader, said on Jan. 23 that Botox caused the death of a patient in 2004. Irvine, Calif.-based Allergan said in a statement Friday that those claims were “untrue.”
