Sidley Austin's Ex-Real Estate Head Bilked Firm, Suit Says

Law360, New York (June 26, 2013, 2:47 PM EDT) -- The former co-head of Sidley Austin LLP's real estate practice fabricated receipts and reimbursement forms for cab rides, meals and event tickets he never purchased to bilk the firm out of out more than $190,000, according to a complaint made public on Friday.

Lee M. Smolen billed Sidley Austin for more than 800 taxi trips he never took between 2007 and 2012 at about $80 a pop for a total of $69,000, according to the complaint, which was filed earlier this month by Illinois' Attorney Registration...
