Senate Antitrust Chair Urges FTC Action On 'Patent Trolls'

Law360, New York (June 27, 2013, 5:44 PM EDT) -- Sen. Amy Klobuchar, chairwoman of the Senate’s antitrust subcommittee, urged the Federal Trade Commission on Wednesday to consider immediate enforcement actions against so-called patent trolls that target retailers, nonprofits and other end users of common technology like Wi-Fi.

Klobuchar, D-Minn., applauded FTC Chairwoman Edith Ramirez's recent vow to pursue a broad investigation into the tactics of so-called patent trolls, and urged the FTC to act quickly to launch the probe, known as a Section 6(b) study.
