Legal Industry Growth To Slow In 2008: Report

Law360 (January 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- After a somewhat promising first half of 2007, the U.S. legal profession slid into tougher times amid the subprime mortgage meltdown and other economic woes. As a result, the industry's growth will slow in 2008, according to the latest client advisory from legal consultancy Hildebrandt International and Citi Private Bank.

For 2007, overall revenue growth was at or slightly above 8-10%, and net income growth was at or slightly above 7-9%, based on third quarter results from Citi Private Bank Law Watch firms. The current year's...
