EU To Consider Duties On Chinese Countertops, Tiles

Law360, New York (June 28, 2013, 11:56 AM EDT) -- The European Union launched an investigation Friday into the possibility of imposing anti-dumping duties on Chinese imports of stone used in countertops and tiles, the latest in the recent back-and-forth between the two trading partners.

The European Commission's trade office said it had initiated the probe into agglomerated stone — a material consisting of rock pieces held together by resin that is often used for kitchen and bathroom tiles and counter tops — following a complaint by industry group A.St.A. Europe.
