House GOP Leaders Seek EPA 'Sue And Settle' Probe

Law360, Los Angeles (June 28, 2013, 2:33 PM EDT) -- Republican leaders of the House Energy and Commerce Committee wrote Thursday to the U.S. Government Accountability Office, requesting that it investigate the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's process of settling rulemaking-related lawsuits, also known as "sue and settle."

The letter, signed by the committee's chairman, Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., and two of the panel's subcommittee chairmen, Rep. Tim Murphy, R-Pa., and Rep.
