China Launches Probe Over European Wine Dumping

Law360, New York (July 1, 2013, 5:45 PM EDT) -- China on Monday said it will investigate whether wine from the European Union is being dumped in the country at below market value, escalating a simmering trade dispute between the two economic powers.

China's Ministry of Commerce, or MOFCOM, said in a statement that it has initiated parallel investigations to determine whether the foreign wine is being dumped on its domestic market or if Europe is subsidizing wine imports. China's trade regulator launched the investigation after receiving complaints from the domestic wine industry.
