Texas Appeals Court Keeps Judge Removal Suit Alive

Law360, Houston (July 2, 2013, 5:00 PM EDT) -- A Texas appeals court refused Tuesday to toss a civil suit aimed at removing a county court judge who has been indicted on charges of abusing his office by retaliating against attorneys practicing in his court.

The First District Court of Appeals denied a petition for writ of mandamus filed by Galveston County Court at Law Judge Christopher Dupuy, who says that the civil suit being pursued by the Texas attorney general violates state law and should be dismissed.
