American Greetings Valued At $551M In Sweetened Buyout Bid

Law360, New York (July 2, 2013, 5:01 PM EDT) -- The founding family of American Greetings Corp. raised its takeover offer for the company a third time on Tuesday, valuing the company at $551 million excluding debt in an effort to win over skeptical shareholders after the company's stock ticked above a previous offer.

Under the revised terms, the bidding group — including CEO Zev Weiss, Chairman Morry Weiss and COO Jeffrey Weiss — would pay $19 per share to take the card and gift company private, according to a filing made Tuesday with the U.S....
