GOP Says DC, Vt. Exchange Mandates Breach ACA

Law360, New York (July 2, 2013, 5:56 PM EDT) -- House Republicans on Monday accused the District of Columbia and Vermont of breaching the Affordable Care Act by mandating that medical coverage for individuals and small businesses only be sold on health insurance exchanges, firing off requests for documents and demanding that federal regulators intervene.

The letters from Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., and other members of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee focus particularly on “small business mandates” that require employers with 50 or fewer workers to acquire coverage through online marketplaces debuting Oct. 1....
