EC Calls For Less Regulation Of Notary Markets

Law360, New York (January 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The European Commission on Tuesday directed its members to take a closer look at their notary services markets, after an independent study revealed that less regulation gives consumers more choice and lower prices.

The study suggested that less regulation would save consumers millions of euros per year in the €17 billion ($25 billion) market for legal services that notaries provide.
