Germany Brings Antitrust Rules Closer To EU's

Law360, New York (July 9, 2013, 3:04 PM EDT) -- Germany has brought its national merger review process more closely in line with the European Union's, a move that comes as part of reforms to the country's antitrust law that recently took effect.

With an amendment that entered into force on June 30, Germany has introduced a set of substantive and procedural changes to the merger control provisions in its law against restraints of competition. The adjustments are intended to reduce the differences between the German system and the EU's competition regulations.
