Conn. Enacts Legislation To Boost Gas, Hydropower Use

Law360, New York (July 8, 2013, 7:05 PM EDT) -- Connecticut Gov. Dan Malloy on Monday signed legislation that expands the state’s natural gas distribution system and revises its renewable energy policy to allow more use of Canadian-generated hydropower, steps he said will lower energy prices for consumers.

The legislation is a product of a comprehensive energy strategy, unveiled by Malloy in October, that aims to tackle the state's high power costs, as well as make its power sources greener and increase energy efficiency.
