FTC Opinion Not Evidence In Rambus Case: Judge

Law360, New York (January 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge on Monday prohibited microchip manufacturers from entering a Federal Trade Commission opinion as evidence in an ongoing battle with Rambus Inc. over important memory device patents, finding that the opinion did not count as an "investigation."

Hynix Semiconductor Inc., Micron Technology Inc. and Nanya Technology Corp. had asked to admit a 120-page liability opinion by the FTC as evidence against Rambus in the ongoing case.
