White House Pledges To Reject GOP Energy Spending Bill

Law360, New York (July 9, 2013, 6:36 PM EDT) -- The White House has threatened to veto an energy and water spending bill that moved a step closer to passing the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday, citing the proposed legislation's sharp cuts to renewable energy development programs.

The appropriations bill covering funding for the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of the Interior and the U.S Army Corps of Engineers slashes spending on renewable energy projects by 50 percent from 2013 levels.
