Judge OKs Twinkie Maker's Disclosure Statement

Law360, New York (January 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Despite a last-minute objection from the company's unsecured creditors, a court has approved the disclosure statement filed by Interstate Bakeries Corp., giving the Twinkie maker the green light to solicit support from creditors.

In a ruling handed down Tuesday, a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri said that IBC's first amended disclosure statement would adequately inform creditors of the company's plans for emerging from Chapter 11 protection.
