Trouble Brews For Canadian Competition Bureau

Law360, New York (January 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Canada's Competition Bureau's investigations into the merger of two breweries didn't sit well with the country's federal court, which tossed out the agency's subpoenas against the companies, calling into question the bureau's methods of soliciting documents.

Labatt Brewing Company Ltd. and Lakeport Brewing Income Fund, which Labatt acquired in March 2007, requested that the subpoenas from November be set aside or modified.
