Amid Hours Probe, NY Court’s Atty Conduct Counsel Quits

Law360, New York (July 10, 2013, 1:24 PM EDT) -- The chief attorney responsible for enforcing professional standards among lawyers in New York's Albany-based appellate court division has resigned along with two of his deputies as the state probes their time sheets, a state court spokesman confirmed on Wednesday.

New York Unified Court System spokesman David Bookstaver confirmed the resignations of Peter Torncello, chief lawyer for the Committee on Professional Standards for Third Judicial Department, and two of his underlings, associate counsels Steven Zayas and Elizabeth Devane.
