Pharmacy Compound Infringes Horse Drug Patents, Suit Says

Law360, New York (July 10, 2013, 9:18 PM EDT) -- The drug developer and manufacturer Pegasus Laboratories Inc. filed suit in Kansas federal court Wednesday against a pharmacy that tailor-makes veterinary medicines, accusing the company of infringing patents for a drug to treat a nervous-system disorder in horses.

Pegasus sent a letter in October to medication compounder Diamondback Drugs LLC notifying it of the three patents for its equine drug ReBalance and warning the company to stop infringing, and the pharmacy allegedly wrote back denying that it produced custom-made versions of the patented formula, the suit...
