Floridians Wrongly Shut Out Of Vioxx Deal: Lawyers

Law360, New York (January 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Attorneys representing hundreds of Florida residents who claim Merck & Co. Inc.'s painkiller Vioxx caused their strokes or heart attacks are fighting their clients' exclusion from the $4.85 billion settlement the drugmaker reached last year.

In a motion filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, plaintiffs' attorneys William H. Ogle and Norwood S. “Woody” Wilner asked Judge Eldon Fallon for an expedited hearing on the plaintiffs' bid to be included in the deal.
