EU Antitrust Regulators Raid Deutsche Telekom, Others

Law360, New York (July 12, 2013, 12:06 AM EDT) -- Europe's antitrust regulator said Thursday it had raided major telecommunications companies suspected of abusing their dominant market positions in a way that threatened competition for Internet connectivity services.

The European Commission, which serves as the European Union's competition watchdog, announced in a statement that its officials had carried out unannounced inspections of a number of telecom companies that provide Internet connectivity in several EU member countries. The raids took place on Tuesday and EU officials worked alongside counterparts from various national competition authorities, the commission said....
