Green Groups Push EPA For Stronger Runoff Enforcement

Law360, New York (July 11, 2013, 3:27 PM EDT) -- A coalition of conservation groups petitioned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Wednesday to crack down on commercial and industrial facilities that generated polluted runoff that contaminates bodies of water in three major U.S. regions.

The petitioners, led by Conservation Law Foundation, called on the EPA to issue National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permits for sources of runoff pollution in three regions covering New England, the mid-Atlantic, the Southwest, California and Hawaii. Other groups leading the effort are American Rivers and the Natural Resources Defense Council....
