NRC Says Overworked Duke Analysts Missed Nuke Plant Crack

Law360, New York (July 12, 2013, 8:00 PM EDT) -- A tiny crack near the reactor core of a Duke Energy Corp. nuclear plant went undetected for a year because analysts hired to look for flaws were overworked, and this could have been prevented by changes to consultant contracts, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission said in a Thursday inspection report.
