Akin Gump To Convert To All-Capital Partnership

Law360, New York (July 16, 2013, 6:47 PM EDT) -- The nonequity partnership ranks of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP will begin next year to convert to equity status through a tiered compensation structure, the firm chairwoman said Tuesday.

Under the plan announced in a firm memo Monday, about 75 of the firm's current 100 nonequity partners will be part of the changeover, which will begin in January, according to Akin Gump Chairwoman Kim Koopersmith.
