Amkor Seeks Import Ban In ITC Semiconductor Dispute

Law360, New York (July 17, 2013, 6:20 PM EDT) -- Amkor Technology Inc. called on the U.S. International Trade Commission on Tuesday to issue a limited exclusion order against Carsem Inc.'s imported encapsulated integrated circuit devices, saying they infringe an Amkor patent that covers the packaging for the circuits' semiconducting material.

Hoping to sway the ITC, Amkor pointed to two rulings by Administrative Law Judge Charles Bullock early on in the nearly decade-long case that show Amkor has met the relevant standards to have an exclusion order issued, despite Carsem's claims to the contrary.
