US Blames China For Halt In WTO Tech Talks

Law360, New York (July 17, 2013, 5:13 PM EDT) -- U.S. trade officials said Wednesday that talks at the World Trade Organization for a deal to remove tariffs on hundreds of technology products had been temporarily suspended — a stoppage the U.S. pinned on China.

Negotiators for the U.S., China and others are in Geneva hashing out an expansion of the Information Technology Agreement, a multilateral pact adopted in 1996 that removed tariffs on computers, semiconductors, software and other tech products.
