Law360, New York (January 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has barred an accountant and former Deloitte & Touche LLP partner from appearing or practicing before the SEC, holding that he engaged in improper professional conduct during an audit of Adelphia Communications Corp.'s financial statements for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2000.
Gregory M. Dearlove, who signed Deloitte's unqualified audit opinion field with Adelphia's 200 financial statements, will be allowed to ask for reinstatement after four years, the SEC said.
