Agilent Hits Ex-Employees With Trade Secrets Suit

Law360, New York (February 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Chemical analysis firm Agilent Technologies Inc. has sued Advanced Materials Technology Inc., a company founded by three former employees, alleging they stole Agilent trade secrets to create a rival product.

The suit, filed Thursday in the Delaware Court of Chancery, claims that the employees used techniques they developed at Agilent to create columns packed with silica microparticles for use in high-performance liquid chromatography. That technique is used by scientists to analyze the makeup of a liquid.
