US Tabs Va. Coast For Offshore Wind Lease Sale

Law360, New York (July 22, 2013, 1:44 PM EDT) -- The Obama administration on Monday unveiled its second offshore wind energy lease sale in U.S. coastal waters, offering nearly 113,000 acres of federal waters off the coast of Virginia for development.

The offshore acreage — located nearly 24 nautical miles from the Virginia Beach, Va., coastline — will be auctioned off as a single lease on Sept. 4, according to the U.S. Interior Department.
