Kansas Considering New Fracking Disclosure Rules

Law360, New York (July 23, 2013, 6:18 PM EDT) -- Kansas’ utility regulator on Monday unveiled proposed rules that would require oil and natural gas companies to disclose some of the chemicals they use in hydraulic fracturing.

At a Monday hearing of the Kansas Legislature’s Joint Committee on Administrative Rules and Regulations, Ryan Hoffman, director of the Kansas Corporation Commission’s Oil and Gas Conservation Division, said the new rules were prompted by the increasing use of fracking technology.
