8th Circ. Finds Coverage For Equipment Loss At LA Port

Law360, New York (July 23, 2013, 5:33 PM EDT) -- The Eighth Circuit on Tuesday sided with machine tool supplier Amera-Seiki Corp. in its coverage dispute with The Cincinnati Insurance Co. over equipment that was destroyed at a Port of Los Angeles terminal, holding in a published ruling that language in Amera-Seiki's property policy was ambiguous.

The decision forces Cincinnati Insurance to provide greater coverage to Amera-Seiki for its loss of a vertical lathe, which was dropped by a longshore worker at the Los Angeles terminal, where the lathe had been stored for a few days...
