E-Waste Co. Chief Gets 30 Months For TV Disposal Scheme

Law360, Chicago (July 25, 2013, 1:01 PM EDT) -- The owner and CEO of a Colorado electronic waste recycling business was sentenced Tuesday to 30 months in prison for shipping millions of computer monitor and television parts overseas while claiming the potentially hazardous junk had been safely disposed of in the U.S.

Brandon Richter, 38, was also ordered to pay a $7,500 fine and $70,144 in restitution, while his company, Executive Recycling Inc., was hit with a $4.5 million fine, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Colorado.
