DC Circ. Judges Join Nomination Fight, Anonymously

Law360, Washington (July 24, 2013, 3:00 PM EDT) -- D.C. Circuit judges have submitted anonymous letters to the Senate Judiciary Committee saying that President Barack Obama’s three appointments to the court are unnecessary given the court’s lighter workload, Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said at a confirmation hearing on Wednesday. 

At a hearing for D.C. Circuit nominee and Georgetown law professor Cornelia Pillard, Grassley said that he had asked the court’s judges to anonymously submit their thoughts on the need for President Obama’s three nominations, which include Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP partner Patricia Millett...
