11th Circ. Affirms Atty Conviction In $137M Fraud Scheme

Law360, Los Angeles (July 24, 2013, 6:18 PM EDT) -- The Eleventh Circuit on Wednesday upheld a lower court’s verdict against a Houston lawyer who was convicted for his role in an international investment fraud scheme that scammed victims out of more than $137 million, rejecting the argument that the trial venue was improper.

Roger Lee Shoss was convicted along with fellow Houston attorney Nicolette Loisel in 2012 on one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud for their participation in the corporate identity theft aspect of the scheme in which worthless stock in hijacked dormant,...
