Dow Chemical Might Sell Commodity-Sensitive Assets

Law360, New York (July 25, 2013, 5:05 PM EDT) -- Dow Chemical Co. is considering selling its assets most vulnerable to major swings in commodities prices, including its paint, construction and chlorine businesses, CEO Andrew Liveris said during a Thursday conference call.

During a discussion about the company's second quarter results, Liveris noted that although some assets had performed above expectations over the last several months — namely agricultural and food-related businesses — paint, construction and chlorine experienced significant losses.
